Information on battery disposal

Note on the disposal of used batteries

The following information is intended for those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and no longer resell them in the form in which they were supplied (end-users).:

Taking back spent batteries free of charge

Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obligated to return used batteries to ensure proper disposal. You can hand in used batteries at a municipal collection point or in local shops. As a distributor of batteries, we are also obliged to take back old batteries, whereby our obligation to take back is limited to old batteries of the type that we carry or have carried in our range as new batteries. Old batteries of the above-mentioned type can therefore either be returned to us with sufficient postage, or you can hand them in free of charge directly to our dispatch warehouse at the following address:

Hans O. Mahn GmbH & Co KG
Brookstieg 4

Meaning of the battery symbols

Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out dustbin. This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005% mercury by weight, more than 0.002% cadmium by weight or more than 0.004% lead by weight, the chemical designation of the respective pollutant is located under the dustbin symbol - where "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.
