Within seconds, the Artisan Obscura soft-release buttons increase the size of the release button of your Camera and makes every release easier, thus enhancing shooting comfort. It is a stylish addition and provides a unique and organic feel to your camera.
The soft-release buttons have a diameter of about 11mm. It attaches to your camera via a threaded screw, tapered to fit most cameras, and comes with two small anti-slip O-rings, which use friction to prevent the button from loosening.
Enlarging and raising the point of contact for your shutter finger can result in added comfort and the ability to use slower shutter speeds with improved sharpness.
These beautiful soft shutter releases provide an individual and classy look to your camera while improving the handling and shooting experience at the same time.

Most of the soft releases are available in two different styles, concave and convex. Please choose your prefered shape.
Bocote is an exotic wood native to Mexico, Central America, and the West Indies. It features a wide range of grain patterns from straight to wild, with curved lines and swirls. The color ranges from golden brown to tan to golden yellow.
Artisan Obscura uses natural woods to make their products, therefore no single soft shutter release button or hot shoe cover is the same. Every product has a distinct grain and tone that promises that yours will be unique. All products are 100% hand-made in Denver, Colorado.

About the woods used
Here's a look into the woods Artisan Obscura currently uses. Every species of wood has its own color, character, imperfections and age. With all the thousands of species of trees, there are an equal number of varying colors that could make up an entire rainbow of distinct hues and tones. Of course, like fingerprints, no two pieces of wood are the same. Even if they came from the exact same tree. Not only can wood range in color and tone, we can get even more distinct and individual with our woods. From burls to curls, and insect trails denote varies conditions a tree may go through during its lifespan.
Artisan Obscura utilizes responsibly sourced wood and keeps its footprint small, which isn't that difficult as their products are small enough that they can get about 30+ soft shutter buttons out of a 1"x8" block of wood!
